  Hi my name is Shaka and I’m a Bichon Frise.

  Bichon Frise means curly white dog in French,

  my hair is very white and curly and sometimes it gets tangled if mom doesn’t brush it everyday

  I love to play in the yard and to walk around my neighborhood, I meet a lot of people.

  one of my favorite people is Miss Edna, she is my friend, she loves to sit on her front porch and when I walk by she always gives me a treat.

  Yum, yum, yum! I love treats.

  At home I love to play with my brothers, I have five brothers!

  We have a lot of toys, my favorite toy is a squeaky soccer ball. Squeek! Squeek! I chase it around the back yard everyday!

  My brother Mustang is a cat and he can climb up and down a tree so fast he looks like a rocket!

  My other brother, Snowball is a Poodle, a small Poodle and he loves to chase me all around the house, we have so much fun running up and down the stairs together.

  My older brothers are twins, Odin and Jades, they look exactly the same, sometimes I get confused when I see them. They are German Shepherds and they are so tall I can’t reach them, they can run so fast and jump over things so high they look like giants. Sometimes when they bark it scares other dogs but not me,

  I am very brave, my mommy says I am the bravest dog ever.

  And my little brother Grey, he is Labrador Retriever, he loves to play in our doggie pool and swim all day long, he always hides mommy’s shoes. Right now he is very small, but my mommy says he will get very big like Odin and Jades, he’s going to be a giant too!

  Today is Monday and on Monday mornings my dad takes us to Mr. Larry’s shop, he’s a butcher his store has so many bones it is hard to pick just one. He has round ones, and long ones, some have holes in the middle and others are very small for puppies like Grey! Mr. Larry saves the big ones for my brothers Odin and Jades, they eat a lot of bones. For Christmas he has candy cane bones they are the best, I can’t wait for Christmas, my daddy buys us a bag full of candy cane bones so we can eat them every day. Mr. Larry puts special treats inside them, some taste like chicken, my favorite!

  After we buy our bones my dad takes us home to eat them. They are delicious!

  Tuesday

  On Tuesdays mommy always spends the morning with us.

  “shaka, time for breakfast” do you hear that? It’s mommy and she cooked breakfast already.

  Every Tuesday my brothers and me sleep in late and wait for mommy to wake up so we can all go on a walk around the neighborhood.

  MMM!! It smells so good, mommy made peanut butter pancakes with our names on them!

  Breakfast was delicious, now we have to wash our hands and brush our teeth before we can go for a walk.

  Uh oh! It’s raining outside! We have to put on our rain coats and our rain boots before we go.

  My brother’s and I have different color rain coast and rain boots, mine are Yellow.

  Yellow like the sun!

  Snowball has green like the grass

  Odin has blue like the sky

  Jades has white like the clouds

  And Grey has red like a fire truck

  Tuesdays we always go to the baker, Mr. Tom’s bakery is always full of bread, pies, cakes and cookies! It ‘s very warm inside and it smells like cinnamon, Mommy looks around the bakery and picks bread for peanut butter sandwiches and an apple pie, that’s mommy favorite desert!

  We can’t wait to go home and eat our sandwiches for lunch!

  At home we watch cartoons on t.v. with dad,

  And mom makes us peanut butter sandwiches, she puts peanut butter on both sides, it’s delicious!

  Wednesday

  Wednesdays is always grocery day, we get to buy a lot of food. Mom and dad help us pick vegetables and fruits so we can grow big and strong.

  My favorite fruits are bananas and my favorite vegetable is squash

  Snowball’s favorite fruit is kiwi and he loves spinach, it makes you very strong.

  Odin picks blueberries because they are very sweet and onions

  Jades likes pineapples and peas because they are very small and green

  Grey he loves the color red so he always picks strawberries and tomatoes

  After we all pick our favorite fruits and vegetables mom and dad pick their favorite fruits and vegetables we have to help carry them home.

  At home mom makes us lemonade. Dad says we have to clean the fruits and vegetables before we eat them. After they are all clean we all sit down and eat them all.

  Yum, yum delicious!

  Thursday

  Today is pet store day we get to buy more toys!

  The pet store has so many toys I don’t know which one to pick, I like kicking soccer balls but I also love playing tug of war.

  Dad loves to play catch with us, sometimes we play with one soccer ball and race to get it. My big brothers always win. Mom says that we can all pick a soccer ball so we don’t have to race, yay!

  They have so many colors, I like the yellow one. Yellow is my favorite color.

  Snowball picks the green

  Odin and Jades love blue and white

  And grey picked a red one like his favorite fire truck toy. Mom and dad say we can take it to the park to play with our friends.

  Mustang doesn’t like playing with soccer balls, he likes squeaky balls especially orange ones.

  I can’t wait to go to the park, so I can play with all my friends and my brothers it will be so much fun!

  Friday

  Bath Time!

  My favorite time of all, we all get to take a bath today. Mom says baths are very important, we have to take baths so we can be clean especially when we go out to the park. Our hair gets very dirty when we run and play in the back yard.

  Dad fills our pool with water and puts in bath bubbles! We all have to wait our turn, because if we all jump in the water and the bubble will spill.

  Snowball gets to go first because he is the smallest then it’s my turn

  Grey is younger than me but he is bigger than me so he has to go after I take my bath

  My big brothers Odin and Jades go last because they are so big after we all finish taking a bath we get to run in the sun so we can dry out furry hair, it takes a long time to dry but we love running around together.

  Do you like taking baths?

  I love taking baths.

  Saturday

  I like Saturdays because I get to see my doctor today.

  We all get to go together, I used to be very scared at first but now I love going to see my doctor.

  My doctor’s name is Dr. Kelly she is the best doctor in the world. She checks my eyes, my ears and my teeth. She listens to my heart and lungs and everyone is very nice to all of us every time we visit.

  My favorite nurse is Jessica, she always takes me for a walk when its my brothers’ turn to be checked she also gives me lost of treats.

  Mom and Dr. Kelly always talk about how to keep us healthy and happy. I love coming to see my doctor on my birthday because she gives me a special birthday cookie. I can’t wait to go back and see Dr. Kelly and Nurse Jessica.

  Sunday

  Finally its Sunday, the best day of the week.
r />   Today we get to go to the park! Mom helps us all get ready putting our shoes and coats on while dad makes sure he has all the toys be bought at the pet store. He also takes lots of water in case we get thirsty from running in the park.

  The park is very close to our house and we see lots of our friends on our way, Tito is my next door neighbor mom always stops by to invite Tito and his mom to come with us to the park. It is so much fun having Tito play with us.

  Mom says today she has a big surprise for us, I can’t wait for our surprise! At the park there are lots of other dogs, big ones, small ones like me and they all look different. Some are white with black spots, others are all white and some red hair!

  When dad took our coats off we saw our surprise, it was my cousin Bibi and my uncle Joseph, this is the best surprise ever! We played with all our friends and with my cousin and uncle, it was a most fun day ever!

  Gina Gongora and Joseph Molina are a brother and sister team who love animals, especially dogs and cats. Together they share five dogs and one cat they love to spend time with. They love to write about their pets and enjoy visiting the different stores around their neighborhood. Joseph comes up with the ideas to write about and Gina puts them on paper, together they make a great team. Joseph also loves to spend time with his friends watching his favorite football team play, The Baltimore Ravens and when he is not watching his favorite football team play he likes to play soccer with his friends and watching his favorite soccer player Lionel Messi play with his team Barcelona.
